Cloete Chiropractic is a private practice based in South Africa. Following its expansion in 2017, we were approached by the owner to develop a visual identity, including a logo and corporate stationary.
The inter-locking ‘CC’ monogram emphasises the practice’s focus on manual adjustment and manipulation to treat neural, muscular and skeletal disorders. Either side of this, the circles follow the curvature of a healthy spine.
In 2017, we were tasked with developing a new logo and corporate stationary for Eden Sky Productions – a start-up production company. The brief was to create an iconic brandmark that would help to differentiate it from the other production houses operating in the same region.
The brandmark is formed from the company’s initials ‘ESP’, and its abstract nature highlights the company’s creative approach. To see the letter ‘P’, the brandmark has to be rotated, illustrating that in film production you may have to look at something from a different angle. It also incorporates additional elements that make reference to equipment used within the industry, such as a camera lens.
Life Community Services is a Christian NGO operating within some of South Africa’s poorest areas. Its mission is to uplift orphaned and vulnerable children (0-18) through various ministry programmes, including education and sustainable development. In early 2017, the organisation decided it was time to rethink its visual identity in anticipation of fundraising trips to the US and UK.
Using the tagline (‘Touch a life and mend a heart’) as inspiration, the new brandmark symbolises the lasting imprint left on the hearts’ of children benefiting from the programmes. To reflect the youth focus of the organisation, the other visual elements remain playful and the colour palette features a combination of bright tones.
Situated in a busy mall, Plat.form is a vibrant kiosk that sells artisan coffee and confectionary, including ice cream and chocolate. After purchasing the business, the owner decided to relaunch under a new name and visual identity.
Hand-drawn patterns and bright colours form the foundation of the brand, creating a playful and fun-loving feel. Within the monogram, the letter ‘F’ appears to be growing within the ‘P’. This reflects how the business’s ethos of nurturing and promoting talented local artisans. In addition to creating the full visual identity, the scope of this project also included developing various concepts for product packaging.
SUR+ is a new consulting firm specialising in assisting businesses to maximise their profit margins. We were approached by one of founding members to develop the brand’s positioning in the marketplace and visual identity.
As there are a number of factors affecting a business’s bottom-line, the logo illustrates how, when managed effectively, these factors come together to generate a profit surplus. The other visual elements and imagery reflect the brand’s desire to personally connect with business owners in order to help them succeed.
Wild About Wilderness is a brand that was launched to drive tourism in the South African coastal town. This area is popular with local and overseas visitors, as it offers both adrenaline-fuelled adventure activities and outdoor experiences for nature lovers.
As the town is nestled between the ocean and the mountains, the two ‘W’s’ within the brand’s wordmark were formed to mimic waves and peaks. The active tagline ‘Stay.Play.Explore’ also highlights what makes this area unique and was used as the basis for a print campaign to drive visitors to the website.
